6 events

Meh this year's been pretty quiet in my opinion, but I'm elated that my favorite bands/artists (Mayday, flumpool, AAA) came back to Singapore
!

2 overseas trip this year. The Mar/Apr trip to Japan for sakura was also a fruitful one for concerts as I attended many artists' live for the first time! Galileo Galilei before they disband, and Goodbye Holiday which I've liked them for quite awhile.

Watching Mayday more than once has seem to be my habit for these few years, lol. A lot of artists came to Singapore for the first time too. Eg: Yuzu, which was something that I've never imagined! Such a big popular band!

A new club/live house by A-live is going to be a promising venue since we already had NOISEMAKER, MWAM and mongol800 for the first time in Singapore too!

Hoping for more in the year 2017! :)

Avengers: Age of Ultron thoughts

May contain minor spoilers.
Contains references and comparisons from the first Avengers movie.

I just came back from a midnight show of Avengers: Age of Ultron and I feel that I can't sleep peacefully without ranting out my thoughts. It's 4am now, let's see whether I will finish before 5am.

Overall thought: Four words; "too much to process". I don't meant a bad thing but if you're looking for a simple super heroes saves the world kind of movie, like the first Avenger movie, be prepared this is something that you may not be expecting? There is still the overall "super heroes save the day" thing but it took a longer way to it (the movie is 140 minutes). If I were to summarize into a word, "deep".

The reason why it is much deeper than the first one was because

1. Obviously, they work better as a team now, there's a bond
2. The introduction of a new character; Wanda aka Scarlet Witch

Now if you know who and what Wanda/Scarlet Witch does, you'll know exactly why I'll say that.

Opening:
The opening was something that I did not expect it! I've seen that scene in the trailer but I did not see it coming as the beginning of the movie. There were much much more team work and I loved it! The only thing I was disappointed in was the CG. Somehow there were some parts with not so excellent graphics, it felt like the kind of animations used in movies ages ago. It felt really fake.

Overall humour:
I love Marvel's humour! This time it felt that there were much more as compared to the first movie but the degree of it wasn't very high. Most of them only earned a small chuckle or for some of it, the audience could not keep up with it and lost the moment. It would normally take me on the second time to realise the humour I missed in the cinema.

The "deep" parts of each character:
As for someone who doesn't read the comic and knows the character in depth, this movie has shed some light to me.

For characters without their own movie (Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow & Clint Barton/Hawkeye), I was actually quite surprised, especially in Hawkeye's. Whereas characters with their own movies (Captain America/Thor/Iron Man) are relatable and expected.

At first I felt that Tony would be the one who would get most affected emotionally due to the reasons from Iron Man 3. But he took it better than I thought but still, being affected emotionally triggered his decisions in this movie.

Some not-so-important storyline/scenes?:
There was a certain storyline in the film which I felt it was not needed. But it's also understandable why it has to expressed in the film as it explains a certain scene in the opening. Love conquers all?

The too much to process parts:
A lot more issues are brought into this movie unlike the first one when it's just a basic "alien invasion" and "distrust between team mates" issue. Basically the 4 new characters brought in all the new matters to process and not to mention the "distrust between team mates" came back again.

Actions:
Much more advanced as compared to the first one! More variations came out!

Overall emotions/Plot:
To be honest, Avengers was an average one. You start off with a super heroes team that can't work together well, they were unhappy with the management. "They needed a push (from a sacrifice of a certain agent T_T) " from Nick Fury and then they worked together again.

This time, there were more high and lows, meaning your emotions really went on a roller coaster ride. But there wasn't much variations for it. It was still the same old "trust" issues. There was a particular scene when I thought things were to go well again but then suddenly someone barged in and make a scene out of it, so I thought things were screwed again, but later it turns out it was for the better. It all happened in about, 5 minutes? This was one of the scene that made me think that I had too much to process.

Other than the "trust" issue, "death" was another one, and oh boy, that one really brought my emotions up and down!

Plot wise, the structure is similar to most super heroes movies and the first Avengers movie. However there were much more elements as compared to the first one.

I guess that's about it! I'm not sure whether I would say Avengers: Age of Ultron is good straight away (which is what a lot of people are doing now). I have rewatched the first Avengers movie for Nth times (probably more than 10) however I'm not so sure about this movie, maybe I need a second time to judge it again.

Meradio: http://bit.ly/1HYmw0s

I started listening to AAA back in 2008 or 2009, they're one of the first few jpop groups that I listen to back then. But I wasn't a fan of their electro music back then, so I stopped until their recent song, 'koi oto to amazora'. That song is so popular to the extent that people who didn't know AAA loved that song!

When A-Nation in Singapore was announced and when Avex has opened an office here in Singapore, Christie told me maybe it's time I should go back and catch up with AAA's music. To my surprise, I love their recent songs! Not so much of electro now. Now, it turns out I ended up being okay with their past electro songs. Yes, I guessed my music taste has changed.

Christie and I were really sad when A-nation in Singapore's line up didn't consist of AAA. (Their tour clashed with A-nation's date) But I don't blame the management NOW because they probably already had asia tour plans that time! So it was okay to miss a-nation in Singapore!

And so it turns out on the last day of their tour, they announced an Asia tour and Singapore was mentioned!! Avex Singapore however, took quite awhile to officially announce it on their own.

I was not exactly happy to know they're holding their concert in Scape because of the small venue and not so excellent sound system. I believed AAA's market here in Singapore can be slightly bigger than Scape's capacity (i.e RWS theatre's capacity, about 1000). But oh well, let's take one step at a time since it's their first time here!

Although it was an all standing concert, good thing Avex has implemented an entrance number on the ticket. Christie managed to secure our tickets within 2 or 3 minutes and we got number 13 and 14 as our entrance number!

Catching up with 2013 concert posts

I am lazy in general but when it comes to blogging, I am SUPER lazy. To think I used to blog so much when I was young!

Thought it's about time I should continue to write down my thoughts for the past concerts I attended in 2014 so that I have something to look back to in the future. But when I checked, I realised I didn't even blog some of the concerts I attended in 2013, hahaha!

Ok, brief recollections for those that I've not blogged about it:

15th June: Mayday NOWHERE World Tour 2013 Tour in Singapore )

20th Dec: Earth x Heart Asia Circuit featuring Asian Kungfu Generation x Straightener )

28th Dec: Babymetal live in Singapore )

Next on my to-do list, catch up with 2014 concerts posts!

Because of these travelling, I am very broke right now so I'll probably stick around in Singapore for concerts next year. 2015 will also be a year full of doubts as I graduate and worry about my career :(

In the end of 2013/beginning of 2014 I hoped that 2014 would be filled with even more concerts than 2013 and it really did happened! So may 2015 be filled even much more!

Well to start off my concerts in 2015, AAA would be here on 4th April for their first asia tour! Weeeeeee~

One Ok Rock live in Singapore 22 Nov!

Blogging late again!

The tickets were out for sale very early and it didn't felt like it was the day when it really came! I went to Resort World Sentosa around 3pm to queue by myself (was really very lonely!). Tour goods booth opened earlier than announced and I panicked, worrying for Christie who maybe couldn't get her t-shirt. It was a birthday present for her! Thankfully there were people I know whom I managed to contact in time to buy a t-shirt for her!

To be honest I didn't enjoyed myself FULLY for this concert.

Being an outdoor one, it was warm, very warm as expected. But I didn't expect the pushing crowd, didn't expect I would see nothing on stage. Many guys were around me and despite me wearing platforms, I think I only saw 50% of the show with my own eyes. :( I think there were 2 or 3 people that were near us who couldn't take it, squeezed out of the crowd and watch from the back or side. Though environmental wise, it's not very enjoyable, the performance and songs were still enjoyable! We still got very high with the crowd!

Surprisingly my legs and arms weren't tired at all after the concert! I think my legs got trained when I walked so much for my Japan trip and arms trained due to the many lives I attended this year! But I lost my normal voice for awhile though (too much screaming)!

I'm glad that I went to their concert and know more of their songs get their songs stuck in my head more often! Definitely will go again although the crowd turns me majorly off, hahaha!

AKB48 Koisuru Fortune Cookie dance cover in Singapore

My first dance cover video!

AKB48's koisuru fortune cookie had a lot of different groups of people covering the dance and we really liked the song so we did one with Singapore's landscapes at the background! Anyway it wasn't a difficult dance and we carried a not-so-serious-just-doing-it-for-fun attitude while dancing it, hahahaha!

Had a lot of fun filming it under the hot sun that day! It was so hot we got tanned and burnt:

Yea just look at the difference!

Hope you like the video!

My message being read on flumpool locks 2013.09.18

As the title goes...

My message got read by Kazuki in 18th September's flumpool locks!!!!!!! (flumpool locks is flumpool's radio show under Tokyo FM's school of lock segment)

This actually marks a very very important episode to me because... Mayday are guests for it!!

If you've been following me on twitter or read this post before, you know I am totally crazy for flumpool x Mayday collaboration.
